The Lycia Therapeutics IPO is targeting a valuation of up to about $937.7 million in the United States, with 14.7 million shares offered at $16 to $18 each. At the top of that range the company would raise a gross $264.6 million. Lycia is a South San Francisco biotechnology company developing drugs that remove disease-causing proteins from outside cells, and its lead candidate, LCA-0061, is in an early trial that includes people with food allergy. These are proposed terms in a filing, not completed proceeds, and the price can change before the shares are sold. This report sets out the terms, the use of proceeds and the risks the company itself lists.

How the Lycia Therapeutics IPO valuation is calculated
The headline valuation of up to $937.7 million is the top of the price range multiplied by the shares outstanding after the offering. We checked this: 52,094,559 shares at $18 gives about $937.7 million. At $16 the same arithmetic gives about $833.5 million, which is our calculation and not a figure from the filing. The new shares would make up about 28% of the post-offering total, also by our calculation. A valuation target is not a market price and will not be final until the shares are priced.
What the Lycia Therapeutics IPO money is for
At the $17 midpoint, the company estimates net proceeds of about $227.8 million, or about $262.7 million if the underwriters buy the extra shares. It plans to use them to advance its IgE programmes, LCA-0061 and LCA-0062, its Graves’ disease programme LCA-0321, other research and development, working capital and general corporate purposes. The company says the proceeds, together with existing cash, should fund operations into the second half of 2029, which is management’s projection.
The science behind the Lycia Therapeutics IPO
Lycia describes itself as a clinical-stage company building medicines that degrade disease-causing extracellular proteins using its LYTAC platform, which builds on work by Nobel laureate Carolyn Bertozzi. In general terms, such degraders tag a target protein outside cells and send it to the cell’s recycling compartment, the lysosome, for destruction. The filing says LCA-0061 targets immunoglobulin E, the antibody involved in allergic reactions, and is being studied in a Phase 1 trial in people with elevated IgE, including patients with food allergy.
The pipeline and what is early
- LCA-0061: Phase 1; early data from healthy participants with allergic predisposition showed a mean maximum IgE reduction of 96% after a single 70 mg subcutaneous dose, and more data are expected in 2027.
- LCA-0062: a second IgE degrader in IND-enabling work, with initial clinical data targeted for the second half of 2027 if cleared.
- LCA-0321: a Phase 1 trial in Graves’ disease, with initial data expected in 2027.
- Preclinical: further programmes in autoimmune, inflammatory and allergic diseases.
Lowering IgE levels is not the same as treating food allergy. The reported 96% figure is a company-reported biomarker result in healthy participants, and it does not show that patients are protected from reactions.
Financial position behind the Lycia Therapeutics IPO
The filing reports net losses of $26.5 million in 2024, $36.5 million in 2025 and $19.2 million in the six months to 30 June 2026, an accumulated deficit of $136.8 million, and cash and securities of $148.1 million at 30 June 2026. A preliminary unaudited estimate puts cash at about $138.2 million at 30 September. By our arithmetic, that is a fall of about $9.9 million in the quarter, and the 2025 loss was about 38% larger than in 2024. Collaboration revenue was $14.9 million in 2024, $6.7 million in 2025 and none in the first half of 2026.

In our assessment, the Lycia Therapeutics IPO is a funding event for an early-stage platform whose value rests on turning a biomarker result into evidence in allergy patients, and the facts to follow are the pricing, the first-day trading and the 2027 data.
